Your Body's Voice, Your Spirit's Song
A Writing and Performing Poetry workshop
July 12th - August 30th, 2010
Mondays 6:30-9:00 p.m.
8 Weeks
First Churches of Northampton
Lyman Hall
129 Main St.
Northampton, Ma 01060
This special workshop combines :
Poetry writing and performing
with contemporary and traditional spiritual practices.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN you set the tone, connect to your source and
engage in safe, witnessed motion with the intention for complete
presence to life? The notes of body are set in motion and your spirit's
song emerges! Voices, visions and verses all are freed to emerge from
the source within.
THIS IS AN 8 WEEK WORKSHOP THAT REQUIRES a desire to
make discoveries and work with devotion...you'll be diving deep into
your inner waters to plumb the depths and discover the treasures your
creative body contains.
This is for anyone who has had a contemplative practice of some kind
for at least a year: writing, dancing, meditation, activism, art-making,
theater, performing, chanting, etc. You need to be comfortable with your
inner experience and witnessing it in yourself and others.
Bring your favorite journal, water, comfy layered clothing. Please plan to
arrive at 6:15 p.m. We'll start promptly at 6:30 pm.
($240) (price before July 1st: $200)

Survivor,Tell Your Story

YOUR STORY HEALING GROWTH
Our stories are powerful! When we write and share them with ourselves
and others we acknowledge the truth of what we lived through. We
connect to our inner self, and uncover the strength at the core of who we
are while breaking isolation and silence. Writing helps up gain
perspective on how we have made it through to the here and now.
Writing our story can clear the inner space to see ourselves not just as
survivors, but whole and thriving, able to make new choices. We heal
the feelings that have long held us back from fully participating in our
own lives when we connect the feelings to the story.
This is a weekly writing group for all types of survivors; if you have been
on the healing journey for some years and feel this is your next step,
please call to discuss your readiness. This is a very structured class,
designed to facilitate a major mapping of crucial parts and players in
your journey, and you are given support every step of the way to tell it
through.
This is an advanced workshop with some prerequisities.
10 sessions ($400), meets Wednesday evenings, 6:30-9 pm
in Northampton.
To hold your space in the workshop send a $100 deposit before
February 2. Max 6 participants.
After Feb. 2nd, call to see if there is still space.
Balance due on date of first class.

News! October 5th,2008
I am happy to announce my new private practice. After five years of personal

collage art and writing process of Soul Collage.

My Biography:
I am a visual, writing and performing artist, working and
exhibiting locally and regional for the last fifteen years in the
Pioneer Valley. I work in many different mediums and one of
my favorite words is "adventure"! I studied Feng Shui and
design for many years before going on to develop my
spirituality, by studying Architecture, Art History, Zen
Buddhism and Taoism. I incorporated Native-American,
Goddess & Earth centered traditions into my practice as well.
I have learned that creative engagement is spiritual action.
My experience facilitating SoulCollage with groups and
individuals:
I guide groups in ongoing sessions for alternative mental
health organizations such as the Recovery Learning
Community and Windhorse Integrated Mental Health as well
as giving day-long introductory workshops at my art studio. I
also work one-on-one with people interested in using
SoulCollage to discover or recover their sacred core within.
My own work with SoulCollage cards:
has been revealing and transformative.
I treasure these parts of my SoulSelf coming to light and
relish the process at every level; from the search for images,
to meditating on the meaning of a particular series of cards,
they meet my needs for deep inner work combined with
creativity and spirituality.

SOUL CARDMAKING
Soul Cardmaking is a psychospiritual collage art process. We
come together to explore the messages of our souls in a safe
environment of non-judgement and play.
We create a personal deck of cards that help us dialogue with
the many facets of our being: celebratory, shy, strong, audacious
or forgotten parts of ourselves. Open to all,
no experience necessary, great for artists who want to try a new
medium.
Past Participants:
" I got to experience myself as a visual artist for the 1st time" -C
"I thought it was very interesting how (the) unconscious came
out when making the cards, a different idea emerged. Just
sitting and doing was very important to me, to relax and put
things together" -M

DECEMBER SCHEDULE:
The Art of Eating
Sunday December 17th 2006
4:00-8:00
Just in time for the holidays ....!
Do you find that you read, watch TV, or drive while eating? Do
you feel hungry after "dinner" is over? When you eat with others
do you listen to your body or do distractions interfere?
This collage workshop is designed to give the participant a
chance to create a personal picture of the energy they want to
dwell on as they eat. We will focus our awareness on the
intention to eat consciously by creating a "prayer" place mat (c).
By choosing images of beauty or mindfulness, and words of
healing, one can be reminded that one is part of all that is. By
recognizing the spiritual nature of nourishing, the gift that is our
body is honored. We can celebrate the fact that eating is a daily
choice on our part to join with life. Bring your dinner.
All materials included. $45.
Limit 6 participants. Pre-registration required.
